WhiteCoat Group was founded in 2014 by two visionary medical doctors: Dr. Anwar Fazal, a Harvard alumnus and PhD candidate in Public Health, and Dr. Aizzat, a renowned neurosurgeon cum health entrepreneur. Their mission was to publish books that inspire, focusing on the medical field and real-life stories.

The company made its mark with the Diagnosis series—DIAgnosis 2, DIAgnosis Apokalips, DIAgnosis Fobia, and others—which became a phenomenon as some of the first medical nonfiction books in Malaysia. These titles garnered multiple awards and were recognized as Best Books of the Year from 2014 to 2017. WhiteCoat Group further expanded its reach by collaborating with renowned Indonesian novelist Asma Nadia, leading to the translation and publication of the best stories from the Diagnosis series by a leading Indonesian publisher. This groundbreaking work sold hundreds of thousands of copies in Malaysia and pioneered a new genre of writing by professionals in the medical field.

In addition to its success with the Diagnosis series, WhiteCoat Group has also published several English-language books, one of which was listed for the prestigious Dublin Literary Award in 2020.

Taking its mission global, WhiteCoat Group has translated and published several international bestsellers, including The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, P is for Palestine, and I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki.
